Weight verification for sea containers SOLAS/VGM
According to the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) regulation
Since July 1, 2016, the verified gross mass (VGM) of each sea container, which includes the gross weight of the goods, the weight of other packaging materials, and the tare weight (empty weight) of the container, must be communicated to the shipping company before loading onto the vessel. The shipper is responsible for verifying the gross mass and forwarding it through their freight forwarder to the shipping company. Our SOLAS/VGM customer flyer provides detailed information on this.
